Facing It 011 - Even The Biggest Cloud Couldn't Hide My Love

well, it's been a few weeks since i uploaded my latest set , and with the 10th edition reaching over 300 listens on soundcloud I feel quite good about the reaction and the exposure my sets get.

This edition is taking a walk in the chiller and ambient sides of music. It's a kind of set i wanted to make for a long time but never felt it was right as it was when i finally decided to record it. Hope you'll enjoy :)

Facing It 010 - Disco Is Dead, Long Live Disco

It took 3 months, but here it is, the 10th edition of my Facing It series.

A 2 hours set that passes on the most recent reflections on my music.

Tune Of The Day 4.5.2012 - Apparat Special

One of the most talented minds in electronic music is coming back to Tel Aviv tonight, great chance to go over some of his tunes. Ready for an Apparat special?

Apparat - Escape

A great tune showing apparat's chiller side, with great vocals that all together sets a great atmpspheric calm tune.

Apparat - Komponent

A more uptempo tune, yet keeps that special apparat atmosphere. The kindda electric guitar synth on the background is really doing magic for me on this one - it's sometimes the small things, almost unnoticable in tunes that takes the listener to a whole different place. Many reasons to fall for this one, that's for sure.

Apparat - Ladies

A good live electronic act, should include a few important elements: versatility, interesting atmosphere, unique drive at some point of the live act, and probably some more things. the first two tunes above set the atmosphere, but will miss something if an hour of a live show would sound like that. Ladies, aim to turn a live act upside down, with a potential success on the dancefloor. Watch your legs if this one hits the dancefloor, it's damn addictive!

Apparat - Holdon

Apparat is a sick ass producer, most of the electronic music fans who know him would agree. So a great way to close this list of recommendations is to choose a tune which demonstrates once again both his versatility, and his sick unique choice of sounds.

This tune is a good example to both the versatility and unique sounds he choose, with reflections from both the electronic music world and modern hip hop.

Tune Of The Day - Saturday 31.3.2012 - Eddie C Special

Tonight Eddie C will be playing at Deli in Tel Aviv. Great chance to meet one of the brightest minds in today's Disco music. Even a better chance to choose some of Eddie's favourites.

Eddie C - My Woman [Wolf]

a melancholic touching tune, that sends shivers to all of my body whenever i listen to it.

the soft beat, the piano, the whole feel of this tune is just magical. released back in 2009 it's still a very relevant tune, great opener to set the right mood.

Eddie C - Make It Better [Jisco]

Same time, 3 years ago, Eddie's Jazzy reflections come into place and make this tune, the great "start of the build-up" tune. it has a great slow drive, that will sure get you into the groove, with 80's disco reflections. Actually i was interested to know where is this tune sampled from. Failed in that mission for now...

Eddie C - Space Cadet [Sleazy Beats]

This tune involvement is exciting. starting very slow and by the 3:00 minutes mark it's already a discoish groovey journey into Eddie's mind where calm atmosphere meets a hot bubbling dancefloor waiting to explode. Suitable for the beginning of a night just when there's enough crowd to take into a unique journey, or for the after hours part where the magic is spread all over. Simply Beautiful!

Good Guy Mikesh & Filburt - Gold Snake (Eddie C's Golden Bc Remix) [The Exquisite Pain]

A great example Eddie is also capable to deliver the driving stuff. Released at the end of 2011 this remix is capable of taking the dancefloor to a whole different place,  with the leading 2-notes synth doing the work threw all the tune, building the tention, keeping the listeners wishing for more. The sort of material to fill the dancefloor with expectation

Tune Of The Day

During the time this blog is running its only focus was on my dj sets. 

With a month break at least between each set 

(at best, it could be a year+ too :)  ) the blog was left inactive most of the time.

And it's not like I have nothing to say, ask my friends, i'm hardly never speechless.

So I could bore everyone with senseless writings, or just keep sharing my love to music in another way, in additions to my dj sets.

Luckily i chose the last option  :) 

So what will my recommendations be like? it could be a new tune, an old one, genre could vary but you should mostly expect something from the deep house / disco area.

So here it is, i'm not at all sure i'll update it daily, but i promise it will be updated at least 2-3 times a week.

Basic Soul Unit - Flying Through The Fog [Dolly Records]

We'll start with something a bit different. A techier release from summer of 2011 which finds me speechless each and everytime i listen to it. The unique atmosphere, dubby and acid reflections which all together makes this tune a unique injection of energy, will get you in the mood too.

Fat Larry's Band - Act Like You Know (Chris Hingher Re-Edit) Free Download

My second recommendation for today is a special edit for Fat Larry's Band 80's hit "Act Like You Know".

This edit comes from Belgium based producer Chris Hingher, who kindly enough made it free for everyone to download, so grab it while you can, it's a disco BOMB !

Facing It 009, Temporarily Insane

Hey,

since the last set alot have happened.
I started djing twice a month in a small bar in Tel Aviv called Mooki's, played in another bar, and maybe the most important thing: if all the exams went well, i have finished my duties for the 1st degree (finally!)

This, logically, will give me more time to focus on music.

So my first set for 2012 is ready and should be posted here in the next few days.
